Mackinac Island
Mackinac Island is one of the country’s best-kept treasures and is part of the Henry Ford historic Sites in Michigan. It has a small permanent population of about 500 residents and has kept its original culture throughout most of its history. The island is well-known for its ban on vehicles, its unique cultural events, and its variety of architectural styles. The majority of the area is protected as Mackinac Island State Park. The sand dunes above Lake Michigan at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore in Empire, Michigan are what gave the park its name. They are wonderfully beautiful, as well as fun! Once you’re done playing on the dunes, you can hike through the forest, bird watching, or kayak on the lake.

Isle Royale
The island of Isle Royale has an area of 430 square miles and was formed in the Ice Age by glaciers, which have created a stunning and spectacular natural landscape consisting of lakes, streams, and forests.
The National Park is situated in northwest Lake Superior and as well as abundant wildlife, including falcons and wolves, the park also offers hiking and boat trips. This would be a great introduction to famous Michigan outdoors.
